Travelling to Beautiful Benidorm

Travelling to Beautiful Benidorm

Benidorm is a luxury hotel and resort destination located in the southern Spanish province.  With a permanent population of just under 70,000 residents, it is ideal for those who wish to enjoy fun and the sun and yet do not enjoy the throngs of tourists that are often seen at other areas such as Malaga and the Costa del Sol.  Summer temperatures can reach as high as 37ºC and even during the winter, the weather is quite amenable with little rain and the sun hanging high overhead.

Cheap Flights to Benidorm

One of the most convenient facts in regards to Benidorm is that flying here is very simple.  The main airport that visitors utilise is Alicante-Elche Airport (ALC).  This is often simply referred to as Alicante International Airport.  It is found approximately 65 kilometres from Benidorm and travel times by car or by bus take no more than 40 minutes.  There are also regular taxi and shuttle services which run between the two locations.  A handful of well-known airlines which cater to Alicante International Airport include:

  • Thompson Airways
  • Ryanair
  • Easy Jet
  • British Airways
  • Vueling
  • Aer Lingus

Having been renovated in 2011, the entire property is quite luxurious and many consider the airport to be the most convenient in all of Spain.  Airlines such as Vueling and Easy Jet can normally offer extremely cheap flights while those visiting on the last minute are often able to find tickets that are reasonably priced.

Things to See and Do in Benidorm

The beaches should always be mentioned, as they are within a walking distance to most major hotels as well as some bargain properties.  Many all-inclusive holidays will take this into account when providing reservations and last-minute offers.  Levante Beach and Poniente Beach are by far the most famous strips of sand within Benidorm.  They are both known as “Golden Crescents” due to their bay-like shape.  This also helps to block waves so they are ideal for families travelling with small children or toddlers.

In terms of family-fun, Benidorm is full of interesting distractions.  Two well-known attractions are The Terra Mitica (Mythic World) amusement park and a large water park simply known as Aqualandia.  Sea life and dolphin shows can be viewed at Mundomar and The Algar Falls are a natural series of waterfalls that can be reached by a short drive inland.

Some luxury hotels within Benidorm include Gran Hotel Bali and the Villa Venecia Hotel Boutique.  These are both considered to be five-star properties and during the height of the tourist season, prices will naturally rise.  There are still a number of budget properties to be found and many such as the Riviera Beachotel will be part of an all-inclusive holiday package.  It is wise to check with a provider to learn more.

Benidorm is certainly worth a closer look and with numerous cheap flights available, a dream vacation in the sun can soon become a reality.
